The search for the cure goes into high gear on Thursday's The Vampire Diaries "Into the Wild" when the teams head to Nova Scotia. It's definitely going to be odd to see them outside of the dark, gloomy Mystic Falls and instead on sunny beach. Will the teams be able to work together without incident? That seems highly unlikely!

The official synopsis for "Into the Wild":
Shane (guest star David Alpay) leads an expedition to a desolate island off the coast of Nova Scotia, where he believes the secret of the cure lies hidden. On the trek to the island's interior, Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Elena (Nina Dobrev) continue their bitter rivalry, Stefan (Paul Wesley) does his best to keep the peace, and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) accuses Shane of leading them into a trap. Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) try to figure out the message of the Hunter's mark, while Shane reveals more of the legend of Silas and the witch Qetsiyah, along with his own personal history. Back in Mystic Falls, Tyler (Michael Trevino) confronts Klaus (Joseph Morgan), and Caroline (Candice Accola) is caught up in the violence that follows.

The teams make it to the island that supposedly holds the cure minus Klaus who was left behind in Mystic Falls. Shane warns them that the island has its own type of magic and they are not wanted there. It's not safe as someone falls from a distance and Jeremy is attacked by someone outside the group. The situation gets serious when Damon tells Shane he no longer trusts the professor. Does the cure exist? Or, could Shane have pulled an elaborate hoax on them?
Here's an extended clip:
Trouble is brewing between Elena and Rebekah. And, of course, Stefan's rekindled romance with Rebekah isn't helping. Elena asks Damon about using the cure ... will he decide to use it. His answer, "I don't want to speculate." Thanks for the non-answer, Damon!
This cure business adds an intriguing question for each of the vampires, would they want to be human again? Though, if the cure exists, I expect that it will be limited in some way that they all can't use it. What if only one of them can be cured? Who should it be?
