Fans sunk their teeth into the Vampire Diaries Comic-Con panel on Saturday with plenty of info on what's ahead for the show's sixth season.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

The Vampire Diaries ended season 5 on a down note, with Bonnie (Kat Graham) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) being stuck on the Other Side. Are they out of the show? The panel opened with a funny video to answer that very question, with Kat and Ian wondering if they're done. The video also included co-star Nina Dobrev clearing out Somerhalder's dressing room (with a script for the 50 Shades of Grey movie) while The Originals star Joseph Morgan popped up to shoot down another spin-off idea. Somerhalder also poked fun at the fact that he'd been killed off a TV show before, with Lost.

Here are the highlights from the panel:

-Season 6 picks up four months after the finale, in which Damon and Bonnie were left on the Other Side. All of the characters are dealing with the grief in their own ways. However, it was clarified that while Elena is definitely doing poorly, she won't be randomly hooking up with anyone else.

-Alaric is back full-time and he has compelled himself a job as a teacher at the local university. And there's a good chance Professor Saltzman could get a love interest.

-It's entirely possible we'll finally get some Stefan/Caroline action. Even though it might be uncool to date her BFF's ex, star Nina Dobrev defended it on account of Elena already hooking up with both brothers.

-Jeremy will struggle to deal with the loss of Bonnie, especially since his closest support system (sister Elena and surrogate father Alaric) are vampires who are unable to enter Mystic Falls.

-Executive producer Julie Plec affirmed that Elena's love for Damon was strong and her friendship with Stefan is simply that...a friendship and nothing more.

The Vampire Diaries
season 6 premieres Thursday, October 2 at 8pm on the CW.
