Scott Kellerman Foley is an American actor born on July 15, 1972 in Kansas City, Kansas. He often moved during his childhood, due to his father's job as a banking executive. He has lived in Sydney, Australia and Tokyo, Japan. His mother died when he was 15, but inspired him to pursue acting when she took him to watch the stage performance of Annie. He graduated from high school at St. Louis, Missouri, and has two brothers younger than him. He is also known to be able to speak fluent Japanese.
Scott Foley is best known for role on
Felicity, which became his big break in the entertainment industry. He got the part of Noel, but auditioned for the role of Ben, later given to his co-star Scott Speedman. He has produced and directed one episode of the series as well. In 1998, he appeared on
Dawson's Creek as the high school jock Cliff. This was followed by several television roles, such as Ian Hall in the TV movie
Someone to Love Me: A Moment of Truth Movie and as David in
Forever Love. Foley was also recognized for his role in
Scream 3, earning a nomination for a Teen Choice Award for Film - Choice Sleazebag. During the 2000s, he landed roles in films like
Self Storage and
Rennie's Landing before producing his own show,
A. U.S.A. in 2003. He also had a recurring guest appearance on the comedy drama series
Scrubs, and has appeared on
Jack & Bobby and
House M.D. as well. In 2006, he was given the role of the sharp-shooting covert Ranger, Bob Brown, on the CBS series
The Unit. That year, he has also made an appearance on the TV film
Firestorm: Last Stand at Yellowstone. His other credits include
