Blake Bowman appears as one of the competing fighters in the Spike TV network’s mixed martial arts contest reality series The Ultimate Fighter: Team Hughes vs. Team Serra. He is 25 years old with an MMA record of 0-0-0, and underwent most of his training in his own original hometown of Carrollton, GA. Bowman studied at the small Cleburne County High School located in Heslin, Alabama, where he was an athlete playing third base on the baseball team as well as wrestling. Upon graduating in 1999, he then went on to higher learning at West Georgia University, where he eventually finished a psychology degree by 2004.
During his college years, his interest in mixed martial arts was first aroused, and he took up judo classes. However, Bowman’s athletic abilities and interests were also jeopardized when he became extremely overweight during this time, reaching up to 240 pounds. But by a fortunate turn of events, at around this time he also met Ultimate Fighter 5 veteran Cole Miller. The more experienced Miller’s discipline inspired Bowman, who likewise devoted himself to mixed martial arts like Miller, and has lost more than 50 pounds of his old excess weight since then. Apart from gym training, he’s also a fan of Auburn football.
