Although she herself is an accomplished actress and model,
Brigitte Nielsen is perhaps best known for her brief two-year marriage to actor Sylvester Stallone. Born on July 15, 1963 in Rodovre, Denmark, Nielsen's career started in modeling when she worked with top names such as Armani and Valentino. In 1985, she landed a starring role in the action film Red Sonja opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger. In the same year, she met and married Stallone while filming Rocky IV, the fourth and most successful Rocky installment in terms of box office sales. During the year that the two divorced, she decided to go pursue singing career, releasing her debut album. Five years later in 1992, she released a follow-up album although it was not as successful as the first. Since then, she has appeared in several movies and television programs, mainly across Europe owing to the fact that she can speak fluent Danish, English, Italian, and German.
Following a series of failed marriages, she entered a rehab facility in North Hollywood on 2007. After a few weeks in, she checked out and said she felt like a new-born person.
In 2004, Nielsen was cast in VH1 show
The Surreal Life season 3. The show features celebrities who are said to be past their primes and puts them in a Hollywood Hills mansion for two weeks. As if this is not enough, unforgiving cameras also follow their every move. In this season, Nielsen had to face challenges, such as taking surfing lessons and recording a group single. One of the season's highlights was the relationship that started between her and rapper
Flavor Flav . The two started getting intimate when they frolicked in the pool in an early episode. She was also portrayed as someone who regularly dozed off due to what she claimed was “jetlag.”
