What happens when you dust the cobwebs off a bunch of one-time A-listers, bring them out of the shadows and stick them all together under one roof?  What else? You get The Surreal Life.  ormerly broadcast over The WB on its first two seasons, The Surreal Life has since found a home on VH1.

The Surreal Life is a reality TV series which plucks a handful of celebrity has-beens out of their current anonymity and thrusts them back into the spotlight as co-inhabitants of a Hollywood Hills mansion for two weeks.  Not only are they showcased for all the world to see as they take part in activities and tasks, but also during more candid moments to depict their more intimate moments, relationships and conflicts.

Season 1, which took off in 2003, featured rapper MC Hammer, `80s teen heartthrob Corey Feldman, Beverly Hills 90210's Gabrielle Carteris and Survivor's Jerri Manthey, along with Motley Crue's Vince Neil and model/actress Brande Roderick.  The second season had Baywatch babe Traci Bingham, Chips star Erik Estrada, white rapper Vanilla Ice, Christian evangelist Tammy Faye Messner, reality TV star Trishelle Cannatella and porn legend, Ron Jeremy.

In season 3, The Surreal Life saw `70s singer/dancer/comedian Charo in the house with clock-wearing rap artist Flavor Flav, Full House's Dave Coulier, New Kids on the Block heartthrob Jordan Knight, former Mrs. Sylvester Stallone, Brigitte Nielsen and singer/songwriter Ryan Starr.  Highlight of this edition of the reality series was Flavor Flav's romance with the ex-Mrs. Sly Stallone.

The fourth season of The Surreal Life included The Brady Bunch's Christopher Knight, America's Next Top Model winner Adrianne Curry, the Go-Go's Jane Weidlin, model/actor Marcus Schenkenberg, as well as female rapper Da Brat, female wrestler Chyna Doll and Austin Powers' Mini Me, Verne Troyer.  In the ensuing fifth edition, the series bore a circus/carnival theme and saw a cast that included Caprice Bourret, former major league baseball player Jose Canseco, Salt N Pepa's Sandy “Pepa” Denton, former supermodel Janice Dickinson, motocross star Carey Hart and Perfect Strangers' Bronson Pinchot.

Season 6 saw transgender Alexis Arquette., cohabiting with Poison's C.C. DeVille, Smash Mouth's Steve Harwell, The Jeffersons' Sherman Hemsley, model Andrea Lowell, professional wrestler Maven Huffman and actress Tawny Kitaen.
