Last week, we reported that Dylan and
Cole Sprouse had each been nominated as leading young actors in a television series in the Kids Choice Awards. Their program,
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, was also cited for Best TV Show. We also mentioned that outside of their stint on
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, as well as their other joint projects, Dylan and Cole have been exploring solo endeavors.
Dylan in particular, spoke about his experience doing voice work for Disney's direct-to-video
Snow Buddies.
Dylan admitted to CosmoGIRL! that his stint as voice talent for Snow Buddies was “really fun.” It seems that his enjoyment of the project has translated well into the video, which became the highest selling DVD on the sales chart last week. The Hollywood Reporter even noted that Snow Buddies surpassed the Beatle-themed musical, Across the Universe.
Aside from Across the Universe, Snow Buddies also outperformed the sales of major theatrical releases such as Jodie Foster's The Brave One, the Cate Blanchett-led Elizabeth: The Golden Age, and the Oscar nominated The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford starring Brad Pitt.
The Disney straight-to-video film featuring, among others, the voice of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody's Dylan Sprouse, is a family feature with strong drawing power particularly over children. It showcases talking puppies, which were previously seen in Disney's Air Buddies.
Incidentally, Dylan's 2003 flick originally called Piggy Banks also finally made it to DVD in December of last year, but under the new title, Born Killers. The co-star of The Suite Life of Zack and Cody portrayed a character known as Young John in a few flashback sequences in the renamed movie. Born Killers is available on Amazon.
Finally, the grapevine is abuzz that the Disney Channel games may take place from April 28 to May 3 at the Walt Disney World Resort. There's a good chance that both Dylan and Cole will take part although there hasn't been any official announcement.
