Dylan and
Cole Sprouse will reportedly be available on DVD come February 5, 2008. Entitled
A Modern Twain Story: The Prince and the Pauper, the film is an adaptation of the Mark Twain classic where two boys of identical appearance but extremely opposite backgrounds switch places.
At this time, not much is known about the DVD release. The 1-disc-DVD has a running time of 92 minutes, and includes a special feature that chronicles the Sprouse Brothers and costar Kay Panabaker's “Life on the Set.” Subtitles are available in English, Spanish, French, while audio tracks are only available in English and Spanish.
It is also unclear whether or not the film will see another theatrical release prior to the DVD release.
According to sprousemovies.com,
The Prince and the Pauper proved to be a success at both the Temecula Valley International Film Festival and the Cinema City International Film Festival, which took place in September. The movie then saw a limited release, premiering at Los Angeles last month.
For those who are not yet familiar with the film, Dylan Sprouse plays Tom Canty, an average kid living with his grandfather. Tom is passionate about acting, but it is this same passion that alienates him from other children. One day, he decides to sneak into the set of a movie called Teen Spy in order to meet his hero, Eddie Tudor (Cole Sprouse). Realizing that they look exactly alike, the two switch lives for the afternoon.
However, things get complicated when production moves to Miami, and the two boys find themselves stuck in their assumed identities.
Also starring in the film is Vincent Spano. The 46-year-old actor, who was most recently seen on
Law & Order: SVU, plays Miles, Tom's over-the-hill mentor and best friend.
Meanwhile, the
Suite Life stars are busy working on another film,
The Kings of Appletown. The coming-of-age movie is an adaptation of another Twain classic, Tom Sawyer. According to sprousemovies.com, the Sprouse brothers' official movie website, the estimated time of completion for the movie is Spring 2008. It is still unknown if the movie will see a nationwide theatrical release.
While awaiting Dylan and Cole Sprouse's movies, fans can catch the brothers on
