During the post-production stage of the film, a focus group was conducted by Innovisions Marketing and Communications in order to assess youth reaction. According to a press release, the youth participants, who were grouped by age, “found the film funny, exciting, compelling and appropriate for theatrical release.”
"We are very proud of the film's production values and the quality of the storyline," executive producer Bobby Moresco said. "We have found that the characters and plot hold great appeal for the youth demographic, and the values in the show are exemplary, so parents love it as well."
A Modern Twain Story: The Prince and the Pauper is not the first film venture for Dylan and Cole Sprouse.
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody stars made their movie debut in 1999, portraying the same character in the comedy,
Big Daddy. Their additional film credits include
The Astronaut's Wife, Apple Jack and
Just for Kicks.
Oak Films, the production company behind the film, said they are planning to kick off the film's release in West Palm Beach Florida. Telvision and DVD releases of the film are expected in the fall and Christmas season.
While awaiting more information about the film, fans can catch their favorite twins on
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, which is currently on its third season on the Disney Channel.
