Next month, Disney’s Zack and Cody Martin will be leaving the Tipton Hotel and boarding the SS Tipton instead, a luxury cruise liner. The ship sails around the world, loaded with passengers and high school students who attend Seven Seas High. London is sent to the school because her father feels it’s her only chance to become a better student but she’ll be trading in her luxurious life for that of a common student. It will be a big adjustment when she ends up in a small room, sharing it with Bailey Grant (Debby Ryan), a country girl from Kansas. Ryan’s character will replace that of
Ashley Tisdale’s, Maddie Fitzpatrick, who has been with the show since it first premiered in 2005. Sources close to Tisdale say: she couldn’t wait to get away from Disney!
Tisdale, who turned 23 this summer, was reportedly getting tired of playing sugary sweet Maddie Fitzpatrick on
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Rumors are also swirling that her upcoming film,
High School Musical 3, will be the last Disney project that she works on. Sources have told OK! Magazine that she is looking land roles that are “racy and edgy”. She is even trying to use her success, playing Sharpay Evans, in the
High School Musical movies, as leverage for launching her singing and acting career to new heights.
Fans of
The Suite Life don’t need to worry. Though Tisdale may be eager to move away from Disney, she’s reprising her role as Maddie for at least one episode.
The Suite Life on Deck premieres on The Disney Channel on September 26th. First up for Tisdale post
HSM is the action/fantasy movie,
They Came From Upstairs, due out in 2009. Tisdale stars as a student from Maine who must protect her home from invading aliens. Is that what she meant by racy and edgy?
Should Ashley stick with Disney or move on?
