If you find yourself gritting your teeth whenever you watch Tila Tequila, Denise Richards, Tyra Banks, Sanjaya Malakar, Gary Busey, Domenico Nesci, Kim Kardashian, and other television personalities, then you will most probably enjoy watching The Soup.  Hosted by the bitingly sarcastic Joel McHale, the weekly E! series recaps several pop culture especially television shows of the week.  Typically, McHale will show clips from the weeks' shows, which will be followed by some satirical commentary or funny remark.

First going on air on July 2004, regular clips on The Soup includes the various classifications of television shows, such as reality series, E! shows, talk shows, the shopping network, children's shows, daytime soap operas, Spanish telenovelas, commercials, and one segment called The Clip of the Week, the most standout clip of the entire weeks' worth of TV shows.  There are also spoofs of huge movies from time to time, as well as political commentaries .  The Soup is the third highest rated show on the network.

The most spoofed shows include Dr. Phil, Oprah, The View, The Tyra Banks Show, A Shot at Love with Tila Tequila, That's Amoré, America's Next Top Model, Dancing With The Stars, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, The Girls Next Door, Yo Gabba Gabba!, and The Bold and the Beautiful.  Host McHale is also known to make fun of American Idol guest Ryan Seacrest, either by virtue of either his sexuality, height, or clothing.  He also likes spoofing David Caruso of CSI: Miami, Spencer Pratt, Larry King, and Tyra Banks.

A lot of the personalities they parodied in the past have graced the set of The Soup, including Tila Tequila, Bret Michaels, Tanisha, and Corey Feldman.  McHale, 37, was born in Rome, Italy, and broke into the television scene with roles on CSI: Miami, Will and Grace, and much more recently on Pushing Daisies.
