the sopranosOn HBO's The Sopranos, Michael Imperioli was known as Christopher Moltisanti as the protégé of mob boss Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini). He was Tony's nephew and the first cousin of Carmela Soprano (Edie Falco).  Deemed as the most loyal soldier, he was entrusted with sensitive jobs like disposing dead bodies and money collection. Throughout the series, Christopher had his share of problems, which includes his violent and impulsive behavior, being distracted with his screenwriting ambition and his drug addiction.  Nevertheless, he eventually became a Capo, under Tony's tutelage, in the DiMeo Crime Family.  In the coming months, the 41-year-old Emmy-Award winning actor will be tapping on a comedy feature and several drama projects.

This fall, the former Sopranos actor will be featured in Stóra Planið, also known as The Higher Force.  It stars Pétur Jóhann Sigfússon in a comedy about a man, who despite being a member of a questionable gang of debt-collectors, believes that fate has something greater in store for him. He seeks comfort in a Chinese philosophy video called The Higher Force but soon finds himself in a whirlwind of trouble stirred by a make-believe mysterious crime lord.

Imperioli has also been attached to join the cast of The Lovely Bones, a drama based on the best selling book by Alice Sebold.  It centers on a 14-year-old girl, who is murdered by her neighbor, who narrates her story from heaven, showing the lives of the people around her while attempting to get someone to find her lost body. Ryan Gosling (The Notebook), Susan Sarandon (Anywhere But Here) and Rachel Weisz (Constantine) are also slated to join the movie in 2009.

Currently, he is filming a tele-movie in which he stars as the lead character, a suicidal former baseball player who is granted one more day with his deceased mother (Ellen Burstyn). Oprah Winfrey Presents: Mitch Albom's For One More Day is scheduled to air on Sunday, December 9.
