HBO's long-running mafia series,
The Sopranos, is about to air its final episodes in April. But while avid fans await for the highly anticipated culmination, cast members of
The Sopranos hints on a few details on their most memorable experiences on the show with an interview with DISH Entertainment Magazine.
The Sopranos, a mob drama series broadcast on the HBO network, centers on a fictional Italian-American mafia family residing in Northern New Jersey. The series, which premiered in January of 1999, will be concluding its sixth season. It features
James Gandolfini,
Lorraine Bracco,
Edie Falco,
Michael Imperioli,
Tony Sirico,
Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and
Robert Iler among others.
Tony Sirico, who played Paulie "Walnuts" Gualtieri, recounted his fondest memories on the show, referring to the season three’s episode entitled “Pine Barrens” as his favorite among others. He said, "The wardrobe ladies continually picked me up out of the snow when I fell. It was cold and the girls helped me warm up."
As for the two youngest cast members on
The Sopranos, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who played Meadow Soprano, and Robert Iler, who played Anthony A.J. Soprano Jr., they deemed their experience on the show as something unforgettable. Iler recounts, "I would memorize my lines and hope magic would happen and it did. The pilot [episode is my favorite] because it reminds me of when I was 12 years old and I met all of these great people."
While the residents of New Jersey are preparing for a life without
The Sopranos, the cast of the show is also getting ready for a future without “
The Sopranos” by their side. Some of them even jokes that it might be difficult for them to acquire reservations in a sold-out Italian restaurant.
Part Two of the 6th and final season begins on Sunday, April 8 at 9:00 PM on HBO.
