Shout Factory is getting ready to release of The Simpsons: Testify, A Whole Lot More Original Music From the Television Series, the latest soundtrack to FOX's long-running animated series, The Simpsons.

The album features songs used through seasons 10-18 of The Simpsons.  It not only contains the iconic opening theme from Danny Elfman, but also compositions from the show's long-time composer, Alf Clausen.  Fans of the series can also expect to hear such celebrities as Jackson Browne, Los Lobos, David Bryne, Shawn Colvin, Ricky Gervais, the B-52's, the Baha Men and “Weird Al” Yankovic.

The Simpsons clan is also featured in the album, along with several other regular characters, including Moe the Bartender, Cletus the Slack-Jawed Yokel, Groundskeeper Willie and Sideshow Bob.

All in all, The Simpsons: Testify contains 41 tracks, four of which have never been aired, namely "Hullaba Lula," "Song of the Wild Beasts," "Dancing Workers' Song" and "Oldies and Nudies."

When asked by UnderGroundOnline why such tracks were cut out of the series, Clausen replied, “They got cut for various reasons... The "Hullaba Lula" song got cut because the show ran long and I think the same thing happened with "Song of the Wild Beasts".  "Dancing Workers' Song" got cut because it wasn't exactly what the producers were looking for and we ran out of time to be able to do a re-write.  And then "Oldies and Nudies" was a rock and roll track that I wrote for the end of a Homer party down show, like an Animal House thing, and the producers actually ended up licensing one of the songs from Animal House.”

The release of the album will coincide with the nineteenth season premiere of The Simpsons.  The new season boasts of a stellar guest-star lineup that includes Lionel Richie, Stephen Colbert (The Colbert Report), Jon Stewart (The Daily Show), Placido Domingo, Jack Black, Steve Buschemi and Topher Grace (That ‘70s Show).

The Simpsons: Testify will hit stores on September 18 and retail for $18.98.
