Hank Azaria, meanwhile, will appear as Egyptian Pharoah Kah Mun Rah.
As for Azaria's involvement in Year One, the Simpsons voice actor will play Abraham. The movie, a biblical comedy from Judd Apatow and produced by Columbia Pictures, will also star Jack Black and Michael Cera (Arrested Development).
Currently, Hank Azaria is appearing on the Broadway production of
The Farnsworth Invention, with his last appearance scheduled for March 2. His work on The Simpsons, which is now on its 19th season, is also keeping him busy. He is the voice behind such beloved show characters as Moe the Bartender and Kwik-E Mart owner Apu.
While
The Simpsons voice actors are finding projects outside of the cartoon, its famous yellow family has also landed a special gig of their own, starring in a new series of commercials for the MkII Kangoo, a new family car from French manufacturer Renault.
The commercials started airing in 29 countries across Europe last week. The television promos are accompanied by newspaper ads and billboards.
In the ads, the family, including grandpa Abraham, leave Springfield and appear in the real world. They put the Kangoo to the test, trying out the folding rear bench seat and carefully-designed storage bins.
“Pairing new Kangoo with the irreverent
Simpsons brand shows Renault's desire to adopt a unique, off-beat tone while remaining faithful to its core values: human, reliable and enthusiastic,” the company's statement added.
