For almost two decades, The Simpsons has been the anchor of FOX’s Sunday night animation lineup. America’s favorite dysfunctional family will be premiering its record 19th season this September. Nineteen seasons is an incredibly long time. If the characters actually aged, little Maggie Simpsons would be old enough to vote!
To celebrate The Simpsons 19th year, Shout! Factory is presenting The Simpsons: Testify, the highly anticipated soundtrack containing the best songs from seasons 10 through 18. The CD will hit stores on September 18th and features the unmistakable voices of America’s most beloved TV family: Homer (Dan Castellaneta), Marge (Julie Kavner), Bart (Nancy Cartwright), Lisa (Yeardley Smith), and Springfield’s various townsfolk (Hank Azaria and Harry Shearer). The soundtrack kicks off with Danny Elfman’s unforgettable main title theme, and includes the vocal talents of guest stars Jackson Browne, David Byrne, the B-52s, Los Lobos, Kelsey Grammer, “Weird Al” Yankovic and more. Check out this track of Ricky Gervais, playing Charles Heathbar who serenades Marge with “Lady.”
