Network: FOX
Premiere: Sunday, September 28, 8-10pm
Premise: Once again, FOX leaves its Sunday nights alone, using its two-hour animation block to win over younger audiences. Wisely, the network has avoided scheduling any non-animated shows here, as they typically fail (see:
The Loop,
Unhitched,
The Winner,
The War at Home).
First up,
The Simpsons begins its historic 20th season. The historical aspect comes from the fact that it now ties
Gunsmoke as the longest-running scripted primetime series in TV history.
King of the Hill will also celebrate a milestone when the show reaches its 250th episode in May.
This season
The Simpsons will feature Homer as a bounty hunter, Bart using Denis Leary's cell phone to make prank calls, guest voices Matt Damon and Mark Cuban, a Charlie Brown parody during the Halloween episode, and an episode written by Seth Rogen that focuses on Comic Book Guy.
Seth MacFarlane, the $100 million dollar man of FOX, will be working triple-time, with new seasons of
Family Guy and
American Dad coming in the Fall while he also works on a
Family Guy spin-off,
The Cleveland Show, which will air either mid-season or next Fall.
Which of these shows are you most excited for?
