The Shot: Judge Italo Gregorio Gives Hair Tips
Until the "Hair Dance" episode of The Shot, I was actually quite unclear on precisely who Italo Gregorio was or what his role is on the show. (The "Hair Dance" episode is the one in which the photographers had the models jumping on trampolines to capture movement in hair, and contestant Jason said the words “Hair Dance” about 37,000 in one half hour.)

After that particular The Shot episode though, and the level of distress he seemed to experience witnessing bad hair, it became clear: tresses are this man's passion.

And since he works on the Victoria's Secret shoots and shows, he can certainly call himself a sexy hair expert. What is his main goal when he's doing hair? “I want it to feel very touchable feeling, very sexy,” he says.

If you want some big sexy hair for yourself, here are a few tips from the master. If you “start straight” and then “make waves,” your curls will have more smoothness. Then it's time to add volume, but “back-comb no more than three times to minimize damage,” Italo says.

Also, it's recommended to switch “your part from its natural side or trying a center part makes your style look fresh…you'll get added volume, since your hair isn't ‘trained' to lie flat in that spot,” Italo notes.

Don't be afraid to heat things up. “Curling irons…can be amazing for enforcing waves -- so they hold their shape longer -- and enhancing shine,” says Italio.

And don't forget to brush! "Nothing is as sensual as the soft, touchable texture you get after brushing," says Gregorio.

Also, he warns, “Don't wash your hair too often. Wash your hair every other day.”

While The Shot is focused on the men and women behind the camera, Italo is there to represent that there's a lot of work that happens even behind behind the camera to make the models look the way they do.
