Benito Martinez, a native of Albuquerque, Mexico, was trained at the Hollywood high Performing Arts Magnet and at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. His theatrical skills enabled him to perform and travel around the world. His notable small screen projects include NYPD Blue and X-Files. Martinez also had the chance to work with Clint Eastwood in the Academy-award winning film Million Dollar Baby. David Aceveda is played by Benito Martinez on FX Network's police drama series The Shield. David is the former captain of the police precinct in Farmington. A very ambitious and intelligent man, Benito planned his way up the ranks all the way to the mayoralty. He was recently elected to the Los Angeles City Council.
