Although his acting career started a little sluggish, Michael Chiklis has now established himself as a versatile actor capable of earning an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award. Bold and daring, he demonstrates that he is not afraid to be typecast and is highly capable of shifting from cheery and pudgy characters to tough and stern roles. A natural charmer, he can possibly captivate anyone’s heart with his convincing knack for acting. In addition, his creative talents whether in the field of film or television has earned him positive credits. He presently stars on the series The Shield.

Born on August 30, 1963 in Lowell, Massachusetts, Michael Chiklis attended Boston University where he acquired his degree in fine arts. As an actor, he worked in films like Wired, Fantastic Four, and has done voice works for animated shows like Family Guy, Spirited Away, and The Adventures of Tom Thumb & Thumbelina. He also graced the television loop with series like Miami Vice, Murphy Brown, Seinfeld, and the police comedy The Commish.

Playing Vic Mackey on the police drama The Shield gives Chiklis the opportunity to flaunt his acting flexibility, as well as his ability to be strong and ferocious. As the leader of the Strike Team, his character depicts a “modern day Robin Hood,” which certainly makes the show very interesting to watch. Tough and edgy, he brings life to his detective role and transforms his character as one of TV’s most favorite figures.
