Sarah Kate Silverman was born on December 1, 1971. She is nicknamed Big S and is a comedian and actress. She gained exposure when she played a role on one of the seasons of Saturday Night Live. After a while she was fired after one season because she was too individualistic, bringing too much of her own personality into the character in the show. She then moved to an HBO sketch comedy production entitled Mr. Show with Bob and David where she was a featured performer. She has made several television appearances since then. She has also appeared in movies like There's Something About Mary, Say It Isn't So, School of Rock, The Way of the Gun, Overnight Delivery, Screwed, and Heartbreakers. In 2007 she had her own show which debuted on Comedy Central. Entitled The Sarah Silverman Program, the series featured Sarah's comedy which dealt with topical humor, satire, serious societal taboos, and controversial topics such as racism, sexism, and religion.

Sarah Silverman stars in The Sarah Silverman Program, a Comedy Central series which showcases Silverman's fictionalized version of herself: an unemployed immature woman who leads an irresponsible life. She is an undiluted, self-absorbed, child-like woman who is always placed in awkward situations. At times, she also performs comedic songs. The comedy that she showcases usually revolves around ethnic stereotypes and similar taboo humor about modern life.
