Last Monday night, FX aired its latest original series entitled
The Riches which upshot sold ratings and garnered positive reviews.
The Riches, a serial drama created by Dmitry Lipkin is a one-hour drama, which follows a family of con artists who lives as buffers in suburbia. Directed by Carl Franklin, the show features the award-winning comedian
Eddie Izzard (Wayne Malloy) and Academy award nominated actress
Minnie Driver (Dahlia Malloy) as a married couple engaged in various swindles and antics. The show also showcases their children such as
Shannon Marie Woodward as Di Di Malloy,
Noel Fisher as Cael Malloy,
Aidan Mitchell as Sam Malloy, and a bunch of Irish travelers who also work as thieves and con artists.
The Riches was fortunate enough to get off on a good start. According to Nielsen Media Research, the show averaged 3.8 million total viewers during its premier, which consists of about 2.5 million adults with the ages 18 to 49. In fact,

The Shield, consequently beating other FX shows such as
Dirt, which premiered on January 2, 2007, and
Nip/Tuck, which made its initial run on July 2003. In addition, the show has more than doubled the network’s highest-ever ratings for the Monday 10 PM niche.
The success of its initial run can be attributed to, but not limited to, the chemistry of Izzard and Driver, which has garnered a number of positive reviews from various media outlets.

The Boston Globe deemed the show as a “layered drama full of unexpectedly soulful pleasures."
To catch a glimpse of this much talked about series, watch the comedy-drama, which airs Mondays at 10 PM, with reruns on Saturdays at 10 PM and Sundays at 11 PM, on the FX Network.
