Minnie Driver, who plays the character Dahlia Malloy on The Riches, is attempting to revive her music career with a new second album entitled “Seastories.”

Driver’s second album, which will be distributed by Zoe/Rounder Records, is due out on July 10, 2007. It has been recorded in two sessions, in New York City’s Loho Studios and in Los Angeles. "There was a whole flavor to the New York sessions that was darker and more insular, while the L.A. vibe was open, sunnier and more hopeful," describes Driver who will be going on a U.S. tour this summer to promote her album.

Driver has been exposed to the music world since 2000. With a low-profile start in the industry, she has signed recording contracts with EMI and Rounder Records. She has performed several gigs and has released her debut album entitled “Everything I’ve Got in My Pocket” with the assistance of Canadian music producer Colin Craig. Her first album reached number 34 in the United Kingdom album charts, while her second single entitled “Invisible Girl” reached number 68.

Despite the lukewarm response to her first album, Driver decided to release another album. Her sophomore album includes a 12-track set produced by Marc “Doc” Dauer, who also produced Driver’s initial album. In addition, other singer and songwriters also collaborated in the album including Jim Scott, Ryan Adams and Liz Phair.

Prior to her role on The Riches, the 37-year old actress worked in many films such as Circle of Friends, Return to Me, and Good Will Hunting, where she earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her other acting credits include Tarzan, The Phantom of the Opera, High Heels and Low Lifes, An Ideal Husband, and Grosse Pointe Blank among others.
