Born on February 7, 1962, Eddie Izzard attended Eastbourne College. After the death of his mother, he found solace in comedy, which eventually prompted him to pursue entertainment professionally. As a successful stand-up comedian, he won the British Comedy Awards in 1993, as well as in 1996. Eventually, he also ventured into theater, television and the movies. His acting credits included
Dressed to Kill, Top Gear, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Open Fire, Ocean’s Twelve, The Wild, Romance & Cigarettes, The Avengers and
Shadow of the Vampire to name a few.
Playing Wayne Malloy on the show
The Riches enables Izzard to be the center of the plot. As the paternal head of the Malloy family he wittily depicts a con artist with a lot of whimsical issues. Comical yet very persuasive, he significantly contributes to the success of the show.
