The Guardian,
Ashton Kutcher, television producer and creator of
Punk'd and
Beauty and the Geek, is reportedly returning to the silver screen, teaming up with Cameron Diaz in an upcoming comedy film entitled
What Happens in Vegas.
Set in Sin City,
What Happens in Vegas follows two people who discover they’ve gotten married following a night of wickedness, with one of them winning a big jackpot after playing the other’s quarter. The miserable pair attempts to undermine and manipulate each other to get their hands on the prize but eventually finds love in each other along the way.
What Happens in Vegas isn’t Kutcher’s first attempt in the comedy genre. Apart from serving as the producer of the reality show
Beauty and the Geek as well as the short-lived
The Real Wedding Crashers, the 29-year old native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has also worked in comedy films like D
ude, Where's My Car?, Just Married, and
Guess Who. In addition, he has also produced the practical joke series
Punk’d.
As for Diaz, the 34-year old actress is known for her roles in movies like
There’s Something About Mary, The Mask, My Best Friend’s Wedding, Charlie’s Angels, The Sweetest Thing, In Her Shoes and
Shrek. This Californian native is also included in the “$20 Million Club,” a popular list of highly paid actors.
According to Variety, Tom Vaughan will now be directing the said film, replacing Julian Farino because of Farino’s conflicting schedule with his other upcoming projects such as the movie
The Year of Living Biblically.
