After a lukewarm first season, it wasn't certain that the show would be back, but Bravo has announced the premiere date for season 2 of The Real Housewives of Potomac. Joined by new housewife Monique Samuels, Gizelle Bryant, Karen Huger, Ashley Darby, Robyn Dixon and Charrisse Jackson-Jordan will all return for season 2. The second season will air on Bravo almost exactly one year from the first. Real Housewives of Potomac season 2 will premiere Sunday, April 2 at 9/8c on Bravo.

After the disaster that was The Real Housewives of DC, the franchise moved just a little north to Potomac. The show wasn't a smash success among viewers, though it earned fairly respectable ratings. It is probably because of those ratings that the decision for renewal was made.

The official press release for the announcement claims that season 2 will begin with Gizelle in the "hot seat" again after exposing issues with Charrisse's troubled marriage. Season 2 will see Charrisse focusing on her kids and her "new normal, single-and-always-ready-to-mingle."

In addition, "Ashley's Oz Restaurant and Bar is open for business, but the challenges of making it a success take a toll on her marriage and her baby plans. Also, Robyn and Juan's financial hardships have forced them to move farther away from the ladies and lean more on each other. As the two adjust to their new life, Robyn must decide if she is finally ready to let Juan back into her heart."

With all of this going on, the series will also introduce a new housewife to the mix, Monique Samuels. Monique is originally from New Jersey but after college she moved to D.C. to pursue a career in music. She is currently married to former Washington Redskins left tackle, Chris Samuels, with whom she has a 4-year-old son and 1-year-old daughter. However, the recently released trailer for the season, which is embedded below, shows that their marriage might not be perfect.

So what do you think? Are you ready for more RHOP? Does Monique seem like a good addition to the cast? Which drama-filled teaser gets you most excited from the trailer?
