The last season of The Real Housewives of Orange County
featured changes of epic proportions. Mostly they involved the re-drawing of alliances that turned best friends into enemies and vice versa.
Gretchen Rossi and Alexis Bellino, who had always been close, drifted apart as Gretchen became close with her former nemesis Tamra Barney. In a similar situation, Tamra and her old pal Vicki Gunvalson also had somewhat of a falling out. Meanwhile, Heather Dubrow joined the cast and showed all of the others what being rich and fabulous really meant.

Well now that you've met the cast
, including the new addition of Lydia MacLaughlin
, what can you expect of season 8?
Well right off the bat this season is special because it will be marking the 100th episode of RHOC
, the longest running of the Real Housewives
series. And Vicki Gunvalson will have been around for all 100 of them.
"I have a sense of responsibility," Vicki told the Huffington Post
about being the last original housewife. "I would've been pissed at myself if I backed out of season five or six and saw the success of the franchise keep going, and I elected to pull back because I couldn't handle it anymore. There's nothing I can't handle. I just have to figure out a way not to crumble when times get tough when I'm doing this."
This season, Vicki will be trying to make her relationship with possible deadbeat dad Brooks Ayers
work after their relationship has caused a rift between her and her family and friends. She also became a grandmother during the off-season when her daughter Briana Wolfsmith-Culberson had a baby boy
Vicki is not the only original housewife we'll be seeing this season either (and no, we're not talking about Slade Smiley). Lauri Peterson, an original housewife who left the show four seasons ago, will be making a return to rekindle her friendship with some of the ladies, and no doubt cause a little trouble too.
It was rumored that Alexis Bellino was leaving the show
as per request of her husband, but Jesus Jugs is back at full throttle. This time she has an ally, Lydia, as well as the new friendship of Vicki.
Tamra's story line will revolve around her engagement to boyfriend Eddie Judge
as well as her new fitness studio business. Meanwhile, Gretchen wants to take the next step with her boyfriend Slade now that he has landed a steady job.
Heather's life has gotten busier since last season, as she's offered acting roles in two popular sitcoms. But the schedule involved for shooting TV shows is interfering with her time spent at home with her four children and creating some tension in her marriage.
Of course it wouldn't be a Housewives
season without an exotic trip or two. And it looks like a possible ski trip as well as a bachelorette party weekend get-away for Tamra. Also both Gretchen and Alexis got hair cuts, so that's pretty major.
