The fifth season of The Real Housewives of Orange County was a season about the girls trying to improve their lives, one way or another: Vicki attempted to repair her distant relationship with Donn, Tamra tried to save her marriage to Simon, while Lynne struggled to be a parent and a loyal wife amidst issues of eviction. For Gretchen, though, it was time to move on from the passing of her fiance Jeff, straight to the arms of another man in the form of Slade. Jeana, on the other hand, left the show to focus on her family and business, leaving room for newbie Alexis to join in the Orange County drama.

Last night's ending didn't exactly wrapped up stories in a neat big red bow nor did it leave enough massive cliffhangers to get you anxious right away for a new season. Still, it wasn't that bad considering we capped off the season with a summer barbeque party filled with booze drama and a bash that served as a mini reunion to old timers like Jeana and Lauri.

While it was nice to know that Vicki and Donn's marriage seems to be going strong, it was painful seeing Tamra and Simon bicker at each other about how things have changed for the worse in their marriage. It even came to a point where Tamra asked for a divorce, which we all know came true when Simon officially filed divorce papers to dissolve their 11-year marriage in January.

But the drama didn't just end within the boundaries of faltering marriages. Lynne's daughters Raquel and Alexa got everybody's attention by getting extremely drunk but apparently not enough for their own parents to notice them. For me, though, the most alarming thing is watching Gretchen and Slade seriously talking about marriage. What's your take on last night's finale?
