Yesterday, we reported that Gretchen Rossi had some pretty accusatory things to say
about her co-star Tamra Barney and her decision to include her former enemy, Alexis Bellino, in her wedding dress shopping outing. Now Tamra has a few things to say in her own defense.
"Gretchen is claiming that I told her I did not want Alexis at my dress hopping day," Tamra wrote on her Bravo blog
. "Well there is a little truth to that, let me explain."RHOC Recap: Vicki Learns the Ugly Truth About Brooks >>>
Tamra goes on to explain that Gretchen made it clear to her that she did not want Alexis to go dress shopping with them, and since things had been going so well in their relationship, Tamra tried to side with Gretchen. But tried as she might to hear Gretchen out, Tamra got frustrated.
"After sitting on it for a few days I started thinking, wait, this is MY day NOT Gretchen's and why am I letting her tell me who I could invite?" Tamra clarified. "So after Gretchen realized I was not going to rescind the offer to Alexis, she sent me a text (Plan 2) telling me that she was offered a role in the new Reba McEntire show. She called it 'Big Country' (she didn't even have the correct name) and would be filming all day Friday, the day we were at Mark Zinino's store."
Then Tamra said that she received a text from Gretchen before the day of the outing saying that she was turning down the role just so she could spend the day with Tamra. At the time, Tamra thought it was a sweet gesture, but then she found out from Heather that Gretchen had been lying about getting offered the role the whole time.
"Gretchen lied to me! Honestly it breaks my heart that she would lie to me after I had just opened up to her. But what hurt me even worse is her text to me two days after dress shopping. Basically, she texted me to tell me what a great friend she was to give up her first role on a sitcom to spend that important day with me."
Not to mention that Tamra really didn't appreciate Gretchen's attitude while she was there.
"I was a little shocked to see her in a bright red jacket with no dress on underneath (it was winter and raining) and with an engagement ring on her left ring finger. It screamed 'everyone look at me.' And she did not spend one second trying to help me find a dress. She was off to the side by herself."
Overall, it looks like there are some fissures in this new friendship. And if it doesn't boil over over the course of this season, it certainly will by the time the reunion rolls around.
