OK so now it's really official. Over the summer, news broke that Bethenny Frankel, one of the stars of The Real Housewives of New York City, and new boyfriend Jason Hoppy, who is rumored to be in pharmaceutical sales and real estate, got engaged but what was supposedly good news allegedly turned out to be a big PR stunt. At the time, a rep for Frankel did not respond for comment though many news outlets continued to report on the "fake engagement."

According to People, Frankel and Hoppy got engaged just recently, specifically on October 8, following an 11-month courtship. Hoppy proposed to Frankel after a day of shooting Housewives and promoting her Skinny Girl Margaritas at her Upper East Side apartment where he surprised her with over a hundred lit votive candles and rose petals strewn across the darkened hallway. With Frankel's Lhasa mix pooch Cookie, who is dressed in a pink bow for the occasion, as witness, Hoppy got down on one knee and told Frankel, "You are the love of my life. Will you marry me?" Frankel of course said yes to Hoppy and his 8-carat sparkler from Manhattan jeweler Kristin Farrell.

"It feels great, because I'm with the right person," the 38-year-old Real Housewives of New York City star said. "He's may be regretting it because it's been beyond a week and he's in panic mode - [but] no, we're enjoying it."

"She is very much a handful but one thing she did say to me is she needs a man that can handle her and that I can," added Hoppy, 38.

The couple, who first met in December 2008 at Tenjune nightclub, has not set a wedding date yet.

Fans can catch Bethenny Frankel when The Real Housewives of New York City returns for its third season in 2010.
