Bethenny Frankel has finally confirmed that she's in for the third season of The Real Housewives of New York City, contrary to rumors that she's not returning on the Bravo series because of her new show called Skinny in the City, which follows Frankel as she plans her wedding to boyfriend Jason Hoppy.
"I'm definitely going to do the Housewives this season," Frankel told People. "It's been great ... I love it. I understand we start filming [season 3] in September."
Frankel is the second cast member to confirm her participation on the new season of
The Real Housewives of New York City, after season 2 troublemaker Kelly Bensimon announced that she's already signed for season 3. As for the rest of the cast, there is no word yet which among the housewives are coming back. Meanwhile, the identities of the new additions also remain a mystery.
Although Frankel confirmed that she's back on
The Real Housewives of New York City, she remains tightlipped about the
controversy surrounding her allegedly fake engagement to Jason Hoppy, Hoppy's fake occupation as a licensed broker, and the possible lawsuit she might face if she continues with her new series, which rings a bell to HBO's
Sex and the City. However, Frankel is quick to assert that deal for her new show is still "unsigned," and that she would prefer to do a variety show or a cooking show instead of the typical docu-drama format she has been accustomed to.
In the mean time, the best-selling author of
Naturally Thin is hoping to expand her SkinnyGirl Margarita empire.
"The drink has 96 calories per serving, so it's less calories than wine. The tequila already comes in the bottle and it costs $12.99. It's being sold in restaurants as well as liquor stores," she said. "I would like to do SkinnyGuy Margarita. And a SkinnyGay one ... but the gays [already] love the SkinnyGirl."
