Following her departure from The Real Housewives of New York City, Aviva Drescher returns to reality TV alongside her husband Reid Drescher on WE tv’s Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, which premieres Friday, January 9. The 44-year-old philanthropist, author and businesswoman claims that while she doesn’t really have a rocky marriage, her purpose in joining Marriage Boot Camp is to strengthen her relationship with her husband, who ironically is not a fan of reality TV.

Aviva appeared on The Real Housewives of New York City from season 5 to season 6. Her biggest and most memorable moment on the Bravo series was when she infamously tossed her prosthetic leg on a restaurant table after her costars called her a phony, exclaiming “The only thing fake about me is this!”

According to Aviva, that infamous move was an attempt to “earn [her] keep.”

“I look at being a Housewife as a job to entertain people, and, you know, it was a piece of the entertainment,” she told HuffPost Live. “The highest ratings of the entire season was that episode. You start the season, you get one salary, and that’s that, and you know, I just feel an obligation to earn my keep. You know, I got a certain salary, and I was there, and I was asked to be dramatic. We know they love that, and I tried my best.”

“In my real life, have I ever thrown anything? Never,” she added. “Would I ever do that in real life? No. But there were several cameras around me, and was I thinking about making a show and be entertaining? Yes, absolutely.”
