After the exhausting season 4 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey
ended last night with the conclusion of part three of the reunion special, things seemed unlikely to mend between Teresa Giudice and her sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga, and her husband, Joe Gorga. But Melissa still seemed optimistic during her appearance on Watch What Happens Live
"You know I don't like to speak definitively when talking about family," Melissa told Andy Cohen. "I never want to say never because deep down in my heart, I love Teresa and I know her brother loves her more than anything in the world."
Although she says that they are family and they still love Teresa, things aren't going to repair themselves overnight. "Right now, I just think we need a little time to heal. I do believe that time heals all wounds and I think we will fix this eventually. We all just need the time and we're just not there yet."
Just because Melissa is willing to forgive doesn't necessarily mean she's willing to forget. She also told a caller on WWHL
that despite all of the footage and what happened at the reunion, she still believes Teresa was involved in a setup to expose her as a stripper.
"Yes, I [believe Teresa set me up]. I feel very strongly about it," Melissa said. "That's why you're seeing what you're seeing at the reunion. I feel like Kim D. had a lot to do with it and she orchestrated it all and I feel like Teresa knew. I just feel like she should have called me in between to give me a heads up because we were in such a good spot. Because she didn't call, I kind of felt like maybe she had something to do with it."
Melissa also wrote on her blog that no matter what happens in the future, she will do her best to make the right decisions for her family.
"I live my life by three words: trust, loyalty and respect," she wrote on her Bravo blog
. "I have forgiven and forgotten many things, but I will not let anyone, whether it's an aunt, cousin, sister, mother -- I don't care who it is -- ruin my family. I am a mother and a wife, and that comes first with me. I have to protect my family, and if that means staying away from negativity, then that's what I will do. I would do the same if it was my own sister."
