Whether or not you were among the many happy online fans that sent questions and comments to the cast of the Real Housewives of New Jersey during the episode this evening, you know what a fun premiere it was. If you missed it, here are some of the highlights of the evening.
A Look Back
It was hard to wait for season two to find out what happened after Teresa lost her cool and tossed a table full of dishes and wine in an argument with Danielle. My favorite quote about it, "If you're not familiar with the 'table flip,' you are not from New Jersey." The season finale of season 1 was absolutely New Jersey at its finest

The Drama Resumes
Tonight's episode began with Jacqueline giving birth to a beautiful baby named Nicholas. The best detail of the baby's homecoming was the shirt Nicholas was wearing. It said "Lock Up Your Daughters." I love it.
But the serenity was only temporary. Danielle is still a source of hard feelings for much of the Manzo family and even though no tables were flipped tonight, the tension is still very real.
Jacqueline's husband asked her to not bring Danielle around because he doesn't like her. She's torn because she doesn't want to turn her back on a friend.
Prayers for the Manzos
Danielle went to talk to her priest about the situation with the Manzo family and told him that they were doing their best to hurt her. She seemed to be in shock when he told her to pray for them. His advice was to not forget, but to forgive. I guess we'll have to see how well she follows his advice...
Making Red Sauce
There was a very cool scene where Teresa, her parents and her daughters were outdoors making red sauce for the entire year. They were washing tomatoes in big tubs of water, then cooking them in huge pots. Teresa said that she puts a potato into the pot so when it's done, she'll know the tomatoes are ready. That's a great trick!
But then there was another part to the red sauce creation that was hilarious. Teresa said that during her time of the month, tradition prevents a woman from touching the tomatoes when making red sauce or she'll spoil the sauce. It makes me wonder where that tradition originated.
A Private Shopping Experience
Then, Caroline and her husband went for a "private shopping experience" in a penthouse. A personal shopper brought clothes to them for Caroline's husband to try on, now that he's lost a lot of weight. When he chose a suit, shirt and tie, the shopper told him that the three would cost between $8000-9000. That's for just one suit. Wow!
The Benefit Dinner
Caroline and her husband hosted a $1000 per plate benefit at their home. To get ready, they hired a crew to pick up all the dog poop from the yard. I guess if people pay $1000 to eat dinner, they shouldn't have to watch their step.
Danielle found out about the dinner even though she wasn't invited and just had to drive by the house to see how many people were there. Her daughters were with her and they were the ones trying to get her to act more maturely.
In a true Real Housewives of New Jersey moment, Danielle's friend Kim was at the dinner denying that she was actually friends with Danielle. I can't wait to see how long it will be before Danielle finds that out. And there's no telling whether tables will be tossed then or not.
What did you think of the Real Housewives of New Jersey season premiere? Were you hoping for another huge argument, or was it fine to let things simmer for an episode? What do you think Danielle is going to do to get back at the Manzos for not inviting her? Let us know what you think!
