Although Dina Manzo of The Real Housewives of New Jersey
left the show during season 2 to escape
drama, she has still been included in the story lines of the show as the seasons continue. At the season 3 reunion (filmed simultaneously with the current season 4), it was revealed that Dina and her sister Caroline Manzo were no longer speaking
and in fact, Dina was Team Teresa Giudice.
Last night Dina appeared on Watch What Happens Live
to clear up the rumors surrounding her role in the Caroline/Teresa feud.
When Andy Cohen asked Dina why she and her sister weren't speaking, Dina said she wouldn't get into details of her family strife, but she did offer some insight into how her relationship with her headstrong sister works.
"I'm not going to get into the reasons. And to avoid it would just cause more trouble," she said. "I'm going to get deep in the club house for just one minute and say that we're all on a life journey and sometimes peoples' energy just doesn't vibe. It doesn't mean you hate the person or you wish bad for them. It's kind of like rice and you gotta let it boil and gets all crazy and you got to let it sit for a little while. And that's what we're doing. We're just letting it sit."
Strange metaphor aside, Dina hopes that things with Caroline one day will get back to normal.
"I can guarantee you two things. One, it's going to be okay and one day we'll be back to normal. And two, as weird as things are, and I'm not going to lie, they are weird, if either one of us needed each other we would be there in a heartbeat. So that's where the family bond will never be broken."
As for why she missed her brother Jamie's wedding featured earlier in the season, she says there was a scheduling conflict with her show Dina's Party
that could not be cancelled upon the short notice of the wedding invitation (and not because of any family drama).
Dina also made it clear that while she is still friends with New Jersey's enemy number one, Teresa Giudice, she did not choose her over her sister.
"I know this pisses some people off, but Teresa had nothing to do with it," she explained. "As a matter of fact, season 3, they were all buddy-buddy and there was a time I was even not talking to Teresa. I kind of distanced myself from everybody. In my mind it had nothing to do with Teresa. Nobody came between us." Gina PusateriContributing Writer(Image courtesy of Bravo)
