Except for Teresa Giudice's husband's recent DUI charges, there hasn't really been much buzz surrounding The Real Housewives of New Jersey, which is expected to return for its sophomore season later this year. However, following a court hearing that commenced last week, controversy has started to surface once again.

As usual, this week's hullabaloo involves New Jersey star Danielle Staub, who filed a criminal complaint as a result of a November 11 incident in which Jacqueline Laurita and Teresa Giudice had allegedly cursed, threatened and chased Staub after a fashion show at a New Jersey country club.

Staub, who was also embroiled in a controversy last year for her criminal past which was revealed in the 1995 book Cop Without a Badge, dropped the complaint against her two Real Housewives of New Jersey co-stars in December. Nevertheless, she moved forward with her complaint against Laurita's daughter Ashley Holmes, who allegedly chased Staub down in the country club's parking lot and shouted "I'll kill you" before pulling her hair so hard she ripped an extension out by the roots.

"I'm just a little afraid, to be honest with you," Staub told the judge at the time, adding she also felt "threatened."

Homes, 19, was then found guilty of one count of assault in municipal court on Friday, according to The Bergen Record, but was given a minimal fine of $189, which includes a $33 court cost.

"Ashley was found guilty of the simple assault charge and the judge dismissed the harassment charge," Holmes' attorney Scott Baker told The Record.

"The judge was very sympathetic and I want to thank the prosecutor; when it came down to sentencing Ashley, Mr. Melani also expressed sympathy for Ashley and asked the judge to be extremely lenient."
