The last time Real Housewives of Miami
viewers saw Marysol Patton, she was happily married to Philippe Pautesta-Herder. It's almost two years later now and suddenly we learned in the season 2 premiere that they have separated. While Marysol didn't go into the details about the reason for their separation in the premiere, she says the show will touch on it more in future episodes.
"You're going to see me going through a very difficult transition in my personal life with my now ex-husband, so it kind of plays out in the show, the separation, the going back and forth, deciding whether we would get divorced or not, and in the end, we just get divorced," Marysol explained about her relationship with Philippe to Wetpaint
Marysol does assure viewers that the show had nothing to do with their breakup, as reality TV so often complicates marriages to its stars.
"Honestly, I'm all about work, work, work, work, and I put my work first, and it just didn't gel," she said. "We were in two different places, we still love each other, we're like family. He comes to all our family and holiday functions, we talk all the time and we work together, but as a married couple, I wasn't a good wife for him and he wasn't the right husband for me."
She also elaborates on how her business as one of the leading public relations firms in Miami often affects her personal life.
"My career is very important to me, and very much so. Deep down in my heart, I want to be married and have a family, but I don't make the time for it because I'm always working. It's something I desire but I don't pursue."
And of course, the most important person in her life, Mama Elsa, is very supportive of Marysol's decisions.
"[Mama Elsa] really loves Philippe. She's always like, 'I love Philippe!' She thinks it was the right thing to do, and she thinks it's a shame it didn't work out because she thinks he's a very good man, and he is a very good man. She thinks I'll get married again, so stay tuned."
Well, even though she's a psychic, we all know how accurate Mama Elsa's predictions can be -- let's hope for Marysol's sake she's right on this one.Gina PusateriContributing Writer(Image courtesy of Bravo)
