After a lackluster first season fail, The Real Housewives of Miami
is returning for a second season on Thursday. But with four new housewives and a new production company the show is barely recognizable starting from the very first episode. So what can we expect of season 2?
Old vs. New
Bravo is really hyping the old money versus new money thing happening in Miami right now. This probably means Lea Black
will clash with most of the new 'wives if not all of them. She's the epitome of "old money entitlement." Maybe there will be a little bit of Marysol Patton's
mother, Mama Elsa, conflict with the other ladies as as well. Even though she's not necessarily "old money," but more like "just old."
There also seems to be some new feuds brewing, as well as old. Marysol has still not forgiven Lea for Lea's behavior during the course of the first season. It also seems there is a bit of tension between Ana Quincoces
and Karent Sierra
, who both seem to think they are in somewhat of a relationship with the same telenovela star. Escandalo! Sexy Ladies
ALERT ALERT! The new housewives are HOT. Joanna Krupa
is literally a super model, albeit with a little bit of a diva attitude, but that's what makes her housewife worthy! Lisa Hochstein
is married to plastic surgeon and "Boob God" of Miami, and she's got a couple of note-worthy "girls" herself. Ana and Karent bring a little bit of diversity to the cast with their Latino backgrounds and both of them are stunning. And on top of that there's returning cast members Adriana de Moura
and Marysol who are beautiful and exotic themselves!
After the re-cast, it seems RHOM
is in real contention with the other shows in the franchise for sexist housewives. We're Not Psychics But...
...there is probably going to be a lot of the aforementioned Mama Elsa in store. The fact that she is highly featured in the first episode and that Andy Cohen is a big fan of hers pretty much guarantees plenty of air time for Miami's (favorite?) psychic.
So you may have lost faith in RHOM
after their short and, let's be real here, kind of lame first season, but it's honestly just like the show is starting over. The only thing this season will have in common with the first is a few familiar faces and the backdrop. Otherwise, this isn't your mother's RHOM
