Reality TV isn't quite what it used to be. Whether it's the premises of current shows, or the stars of the shows themselves, a lot of series just need a fresh start. For instance, The Bachelor is still immensely popular, but after over 20 seasons, there are some things about it that should probably change. Here are seven reality shows that are in desperate need of a spin-off or reboot.

1. Keeping Up with the Kardashians (Spin-Off)

KUWTK spinoff.jpg The Kardashians have been the focus of all of our screens for so long, due in large part to the success of their reality show. Whether you hate them or love them, you can't deny that KUWTK has been one of the most successful reality shows of all time. With its success launching each of the girls' careers, their lives are so seperate now on the show that we hardly see them all in the same room at once. With the youngest of the clan, Kylie and Kendall, growing more popular than the rest, a spin-off focused solely on these two Jenner sisters might be more appealing at this time.

2. Jersey Shore (Spin-Off)

Jersey Shore spinoff.jpg Jersey Shore birthed so many pop culture expressions and situations (pun intended) during its six-season run. From Pauly D's "cabs are here!" to Mike's "we got a situation," there was a time when you couldn't avoid the lingo of the shore. It was really these crazy housemates that made the show more than the premise. We didn't care where they were, just that we were watching them. There were even seasons that took place in Miami and Italy instead of New Jersey. After being off the air for five years, it would be great to get the gang back together for a new series. Because their careers have taken most of them out of New Jersey by now, a spin-off congregating them somewhere else could be interesting.

3. Real Housewives of D.C. (Reboot)

RHODC reboot.jpg The D.C.-based version of the popular Bravo TV series only lasted a season. People just weren't as keen to see housewives in the nation's capital as they were to see them in New York or Atlanta. However, given that a former reality TV host will soon be occupying the White House, this may be the perfect time to bring a reality show back to Washington D.C.

4. The Hills (Spin-Off)

The Hills spinoff.jpg Hollywood has changed a lot since 2010 when The Hills was sadly taken off the air. During its six-season run, it was easily one of the most influential reality shows in pop culture. Like Jersey Shore, The Hills was so popular because of its stars and not its premise. Because of this, a reboot with new stars isn't what people would want. We need to see some more of Lauren Conrad. If she was on board, a new series following her life as a young adult novelist and killing it in the fashion industry would probably do very well.

5. The Bachelor / The Bachelorette (Spin-Off)

Bachelor spinoff.jpg The quest-for-love series has been beloved by viewers for years. It follows the same structure each season because fans keep coming back for more of the same. Still, many have taken issue with the lack of diversity in the series. Because of this, the contestants from each season sort of blend together and the show needs a new twist. One aspect in particular that could use a shake-up is the heterosexuality of the show. We love The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, but we'd also love to see a version that focuses on LGBTQ contestants as well.

6. American Idol (Reboot)

American Idol reboot.jpg American Idol is really the godfather of the singing competition genre. It is also responsible for some pretty big musicians today, including Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson. When the show went off the air, it's absence wasn't felt too greatly, as The Voice had really surpassed it in popularity. Still, the shtick of The Voice isn't the same as that of American Idol. The simplicity of this contest, free of judges' teams, was actually nice. Also, one of the biggest draws of American Idol was the brash nature of judge Simon Cowell. This is something no other singing competition series has been able to replicate. We need to see someone like Simon come back to bluntly put artists in their place.

7. The Biggest Loser (Spin-Off)

Biggest Loser spinoff.jpg After seasons of The Biggest Loser end, we often read stories of contestants who did so well during the season, but sadly put the weight back on as they integrated back into everyday life. It would be great to see a separate series where contestants from prior seasons who have gone through this could get together for an epic comeback. The season could also focus more on how these contestants can practice the habits they learn on the show in their normal lives in order to keep the weight off. This is something the show doesn't currently do a great job of addressing.
