If you forgot that a Lisa Vanderpump spin off of
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was actually happening, don't worry, you aren't alone. But now Bravo is releasing a first look at
Vanderpump Rules which will be airing in the beginning of January.
The show will focus on Lisa running her trendy restaurant in West Hollywood and will feature
six other young stars who are the staff at SUR who also happen to be aspiring actors and actresses and other beautiful semi-well-off young people with an exaggerated sense of entitlement.
Judging by this preview, it looks like we're looking at an over-sexed even trashier version of
The Hills where Lisa plays a mother hen
Miss Bliss type of character. Not exactly what we had in mind when we first heard "Lisa Vanderpump spin off."
It's certainly nothing like it's
Real Housewives spin off predecessors either. While
RHONYC star Bethenny Frankel got her own show to basically follow her every day life on
Bethenny Ever After and
RHOA star Kim Zolciak had
Don't Be Tardy For The Wedding to document her wedding, Lisa seems to be little more than an afterthought on
Vanderpump Rules.
Apparently we are supposed to care about other people on Queen Vanderpump's show, and that is already hard enough to do with the other cast mates of
RHOBH.
It may be safe to say that this is aiming for the younger spectrum of
The Real Housewives audience. But if watching people act drunk and foolish and look better than you while doing it, this might be right up your alley.
