Just when I'm about to report on Kandi Burruss' relationship with her fiance going downhill, another tragedy strikes The Real Housewives of Atlanta
. Ashley "A.J." Jewell, who was formerly engaged to Burruss, died from a head injury during a fight Friday night just outside The Body Tap Club where he worked, police confirmed to TV station WSBTV
Consequently, the Atlanta police arrested club employee Fredrick Richardson, who has been charged with voluntary manslaughter and is presently being held at Grady Detention in connection with the crime.
Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.
"It appears he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and he received a severe blow to the head," said Atlanta Police Lt. Keith Meadows, adding that A.J. was taken to Piedmont Hospital where he later died.
According to authorities, Richardson, who was also injured, will be transported to the Fulton County Jail once he is cleared by medical personnel.
While Burruss is asking for privacy during this very difficult time, the newest member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta
posted a message on her Twitter page Saturday expressing how the loss of her former fiance has left her devastated.
"I could never in a million years imagine this happening. Please pray for A.J.'s children ... that's who i'm the most concerned for. I'm about to give my swollen eyes some rest now. I just wanted to say thanks two everyone for their prayers," said Burruss.
Meanwhile, Real Housewives of Atlanta
co-star Lisa Wu-Hartwell also expressed her sentiment regarding A.J., who appeared in several episodes of the Bravo docu-drama.
"Ed and I have grown fond of A.J. and Kandi and we all have become friends. We are very saddened by the news of A.J.'s sudden passing and can't imagine what Kandi is going through," Lisa Wu-Hartwell said.
