According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dohring will play a human detective named Will Kinney, who is “described as smart and confident with a very clear sense of right and wrong, who is out to bring the forces of evil to justice.” While Kinney is unaware of the happenings in New Orleans, he does have a strong intuition that there’s more to the city than meets the eye.

Dohring, who has also appeared on The CW’s The Messengers, The Tomorrow People, Ringer and Supernatural, is just one of the new faces who will grace the upcoming season of The Originals. He is set to make his debut in the season 3 premiere, which kicks off on Thursday, October 8 at 9pm on The CW.

Meanwhile, Dohring isn’t the only actor from Veronica Mars who has a new gig. Adam Rose, whose character Max was a love interest to Tina Majorino’s Mac,  has been cast on iZombie. He will play Byron McCoy, “a sensitive hipster prone to wearing ironic t-shirts and passionate about the arts. Byron may have information on a recent murder.” Executive producer Rob Thomas, the man behind Veronica Mars and iZombie, confirmed the news to TV Line.

Rose’s casting marks the third time a Veronica Mars alum has been tapped on iZombie. Percy Daggs III and Ryan Hansen have already appeared in the first season.
