Casting Bits: Claire Holt to Star on 'Aquarius,' 'Arrow' Gets Its Wildcat and More

Aquarius, Arrow and The Blacklist are just some of the TV shows that will make room for new characters this fall. Read on to find out which actors are the subject of this latest casting roundup.

Claire Holt on Aquarius

According to E! News, The Originals star Claire Holt has joined the upcoming David Duchovny drama, Aquarius, as a series regular. Holt joins previously announced cast members Gaius Charles, Gethin Anthony and Grey Damon on the NBC series, which is set in the '60s and revolves around Duchovny as an undercover cop who attempts to track killer Charles Manson and his followers. Holt, who according to The Originals creator Julie Plec is still expected to appear as Rebekah "at least once in the first three episodes" of the upcoming season of the vampire series, is set to play a female police officer named Chairmain Tully who is trying to prove her worth in the male-dominated circuit of the LAPD.

J.R. Ramirez on Arrow

Arrow season 3 makes room for Ted "Wildcat" Grant, a former boxer with a mysterious past who will play an important role in Laurel's storyline. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim hinted about the character's introduction in the upcoming season during Comic-Con though further details were not revealed. According to, J.R. Ramirez, who is known for his role as Julio on the TV series Power,  has landed the potentially recurring role. 

Mozhan Marno and  Mary-Louise Parker on The Blacklist

The Blacklist is gearing up for its second season by adding some fresh faces to spice up Raymond Reddington's (James Spader) storyline. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Weeds star Mary-Louise Parker and House of Cards actress Mozhan Marno will join the cast as a recurring guest star and a series regular respectively. Marno will play a former Mossad agent named Tamar Katzman, an "incredibly intuitive spy who goes head to head with Reddington" while Parker is set to play Naomi Hyland, a mysterious woman with ties to Reddington.

C.S. Lee on Criminal Minds

C.S. Lee., best known for playing Masuka on Showtime's Dexter, is set to make an appearance in the second episode of Criminal Minds' upcoming season, TV Line reports. He'll play "a high school English teacher with a deadly obsession that began in adolescence, when his academically rigorous father would make him and his older brother read in their shed for hours as punishment for supposedly poor grades."
