Ever dreamed of getting dating advice from Kelly Kapur (Mindy Kaling) from The Office?

Kelly may be just one perky, bubbly character on the NBC comedy, but her alter-ego recently bagged a potentially big project courtesy of the same guys behind the worldwide sensation Juno, Variety reports. Alongside fellow Office writer Brent Forrester, Mindy Kaling has been commissioned by Mandate Pictures to pen the script for upcoming rom-com The Low Self Esteem of Lizzie Gillespie.

The company, who managed to turn quirky Juno into a $230 million enterprise, will produce this original tale of a woman with self-esteem so low that he starts dating a string of losers. Her luck changes, though, and suddenly she finds herself pursued by a seemingly perfect guy.

Mandate's Nathan Kahane said Kaling and Forrester are among "the most comically endowed writers out there," adding that "Mindy's unique world view injects an authentic sense of humor into her writing."

This, however, appears to be just the tip of the iceberg for Mindy. Other than her Office gig, Kaling has signed a two-year deal with NBC to develop and star in her own comedy, while Forrester is working on his own pilot for Fox, if he isn't busy with The Simpsons and King of the Hill.
