“Dinner Party” follows Pam and Jim as they run out of excuses and are forced to go to Jan and Michael's house for a dinner party. According to Greg Daniels, who serves as the executive producer of the show, fans can expect a lot of tension between the characters in this installment.
“Well, that's a very kind of a charged situation where Michael has been asking Pam and Jim to come have dinner with him and Jan over and over, and over again. And he finally manages this, through this kind of scam, to destroy all their excuses. And it just happens to be after the previous episode, which is when he went to New York to try and help Jan with her deposition, and he kind of blew her wrongful termination lawsuit. So there's a lot of tension between them in that episode,” Daniels said.
Aside from Pam and Jim, Andy and Angela are also invited to Jan and Michael's dinner. This makes Dwight jealous and according to rumors, drives him to bring his mother as his date.
