Exclusive Video Interviews: 'The Office' Cast Jokes Around on the Red Carpet

The brilliance of The Office comes from the unbelievably deep pool of talent the show has cultivated. As great as Dwight and Jim are, The Office could literally feature any employee at Dunder-Mifflin to create a great episode. Tonight that rule is put into practice, as Meredith (Kate Flannery) plays a big role in season 5's second episode, “Business Ethics.”

During last months' NBC fall premiere party, the cast of The Office came out in droves for a good time. BuddyTV spoke to Leslie David Baker (Stanley), Oscar Nunez (Oscar), Phyllis Smith (Phyllis), Kate Flannery (Meredith) and Creed Bratton (Creed) about their experiences on the show. Five seasons in and the cast of The Office still goes to work every day thrilled to be there. For Baker, it beats working in a real office, like he did before getting this role. For Flannery, her only major complaint is Meredith's wardrobe, which gets a bit dreary.

Creed Bratton, the man, is as impossible to figure out as Creed, the strange character he plays on The Office. The backstory of his character is a muddled mystery, though he let us know that Creed just showed up and started working at Dunder-Mifflin, and it was a year before anyone actually questioned whether he was hired or belonged there. Bratton would also love to play more guitar on the show.

Phyllis and Bob Vance are still going strong in season 5, and Smith revealed that in an upcoming episode, we'll learn that she and Vance have a maze in their backyard.

The cast of The Office is heavily rooted in improv, so it's sometimes difficult to tell what's true and what's not. Oscar mentioned that his character will slowly move from homosexual to heterosexual, with a brief stop in the middle where he dates transexuals.

While that's obviously a joke, Bratton was less clear. The actor claims to speak several languages, he only has four toes on one foot, he had run-ins with the law, and he did black ops for the government. I have no idea which of those are true and which are false, but it all leads me believe the actor and character aren't so different after all.

The Office
returns with an all-new episode, “Business Ethics,” tonight at 9pm on NBC in which Holly tries to educate the staff about ethical behavior in the workplace, leading to some stunning confessions by the employees.
