Jenna Fischer as Pam Beesly

Pamela Beesly is played by Jenna Fischer on NBC's The Office. Twenty-eight-year-old Pam is the friendly receptionist at the Scranton branch of the paper products distributor, Dunder Mifflin. Having above average typing skills, she can type 90 words per minute. She enjoys eating mixed berry yogurt and French Onion Sun Chips and watching her favorite movies, Fargo, Edward Scissorhands, Dazed and Confused, The Breakfast Club, and The Princess Bride.

Apathetic toward her job, Pam didn't want to become a permanent receptionist. However, she broke down when her ill-scheming boss, Michael Scott, told her she was fired, as a joke. Her boss thought she lacked enthusiasm in answering the phone, and had scolded her for forwarding calls to voice mail without answering them. Michael enjoys abusing her for fun, but the only thing she has ever done was to call him a jerk.

Pam and Roy Anderson had dated for eight years, and had been engaged for three, a fact that was usually the center of Michael's running gags. Pam also denied having a liking for Jim Halpert, even if she was caught staring at a sweaty Jim while licking her lips. Her emotions for him were further proven when she kissed him for winning an award. Jim returned her feelings and confessed his love for her at the Dunder Mifflin Casino Night, but was turned down by Pam. Determined to have her for himself, Jim returned and kissed her.

Early in the second season, Pam began to have second thoughts about her engagement to Roy. She forfeited the wedding and the couple broke up, thus Pam was forced to move to her own apartment. She then began taking art classes, an endeavor that Roy thought was a waste of time.

Their break up hit Roy badly as he began to neglect himself. He sunk into depression, gained weight and was eventually arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. After realizing his mistakes, Roy was determined to clean up his act and get Pam back into his life.

In the third season, Jim took a position at the Stamford branch of the company. However, he returned after the company went through a merger. Pam was pleased to have him back, but Jim revealed that he was seeing someone else. Pam quickly denied her feelings for Jim when his new girlfriend, Karen, confronted her about it.

In the fourth season, Jim and Pam finally got back together and since then have started a stable relationship.
