The Office is played by Brian Baumgartner. An accountant at paper distributor Dunder-Mifflin, Kevin is a bald and overweight man who seems to have only two facial expressions, a scowl and an impish grin. He speaks in a slow, monotone voice and rarely expresses his emotions. However, he is prone to giggling at things that would amuse a child rather than an adult. Lacking communication skills, Kevin usually makes blunt, inappropriate and offensive comments regarding the other employees at the office, deriving from his deadpan personality.
In season 1, Kevin was underestimated by Michael while he was arranging a team for the basketball game. Michael ignored Kevin's request to join the team, not knowing how good a player he was. Michael recruited Stanley Hudson instead, assuming that he was good just because he was an African-American.
Kevin had a liking for Pam, whom he thought was hot. However, when he met Katy, a purse saleswoman who visited the office, he told her that she was prettier than Pam.
On Diversity Day, Kevin attempted to reenact an offensive Chris Rock routine for his officemates, which Michael had previously done. Michael then told Kevin that he butchered the routine.
In season 2, Kevin showed a little bit more of himself, as it was evident that he had a liking for paper football, a game he liked to play during work. He also liked to play How Many M&M's Can You Put in Your Mouth? and tried to set the temperature at 69, his favorite number, which coincidentally is a reference to the sexual position. It was also discovered that he had a collection of pornography on his computer, which he hopes his stepdaughter Abby would not see, as she came along with him to work on Take Your Daughter to Work Day.
Kevin was also a member of the band Scrantonicity, which broke up in season 4. He then created a new splinter group named Scrantonicity II, for which he rallied his officemates to support. He also suspected his officemates Jim and Pam of being together, but was not able to prove it after multiple attempts of spying on them.
