On tonight’s episode of
The Next Food Network Star, the final three contestants meet up with Bobby Flay and Guy Fieri, the winner of
The Next Food Network Star’s 2nd season. Bobby and Guy inform the final three that they’ll have to film a 30 second promo in a prominent Vegas location. When
Lisa had to do hers on a cable in a gigantic wine tower, she lost her focus and stumbled through her video shoot.
Aaron walked and talked on the floor of a Vegas casino, while trying to get over his fear of the camera.
Adam struggled mixing his lines with the choreography he was given to perform with Vegas showgirls. Guy takes all three tapes and brings them back to the judges for evaluation, with all three nervous about the performances they turned in.
For their next challenge, the final three were given 6 hours and a budge of a thousand dollars to prepare a buffet for some of the best entertainers in Vegas. Fortunately, they wouldn’t have to do it all single-handedly. Three previously eliminated contestants (Shayne, Jen, and Kelsey) were brought back to act as sous chefs. Lisa chose Kelsey, Adam took Shayne, and Aaron worked with Jen.
Adam’s buffet consisted of: smoked pork chops, smoked chicken wings, smoked mushroom pizza, sweet potato fries, crab salad, and banana cream pie. For his buffet, Aaron chose to serve: sirloin bruschetta, orzo salad, chicken bow-tie pasta, chicken tortellini salad, crab cakes, and chocolate fondue. Lisa chose the following dishes to serve at her buffet: monkfish piccata, pork roast, twice-baked potatoes, asparagus vinaigrette, tomato and mozzarella salad, and poached pears.
For Lisa's presentation, she shocks everyone by breaking out into song to welcome everyone to her "beautiful buffet". Aaron attempted a strange stand-up act and was met the sound of crickets and the sight of tumbleweeds blowing by. Adam gave the most natural presentation, opting to give up his slapstick humor that had him falling flat on his face for much of the season.
In panel, the selection committee tells Aaron that while they liked his video, they thought he bombed when presenting his buffet. They also felt that Aaron needed more variety in his buffet but were big fans of his crab cakes. The judges felt like, in the video, Lisa's biggest enemy is herself and sometimes doubts herself. They liked her singing presentation and thought the food in her buffet really represented who she is. Adam was told that he used the best aspects of his sense of humor in his video but felt his presentation was boring. He found out that his pork was the favorite dish of the day, which made him a little emotional.
When it time to decide who was going home, though, the selection committee was unable to reach a decision. They wanted the best out of all three finalists to create an amazing show but couldn't put their faith and trust in just one right now. In the end, they decided to send all three back to New York for the finals.
This week, the final three contestants will talk to BuddyTV in an exclusive interview. Don't miss out on hearing what these talented people have to say about their performances in the competition, each other, and the selection committee!
