The Next Food Network Star: The Savory Carnival!
The Next Food Network Star: The Savory Carnival!
Tonight's camera challenge was kind of lame. Talking and cooking at the same time, okay.  Giada's lasagna recipe, fine.  But no, Doreen, this challenge is not "SOOOO crazy." Brianna put it best, though: "I know I can cook and talk at the same time. It's the CAMERA part that's got me messed up." I hate Paul, he thinks he is SOOOO crazy. Giada likes him, though. I guess. She doesn't like Serena, though, you can tell. What's not to like?

It looks like Dzintra is allergic to acting normal. Maybe she wasn't socialized as a child? She's coming across as crazy, but maybe she is, so she's coming across accurately. Brad is so "nice."  Herb is so "into himself." I have to say, though, Giada is a really good mentor for these people.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

Were you happy to see Duff Goldman, the Cake Ace himself, as a guest judge? I like that guy, but I don't like this "100 of my closest friends" business. I love the idea of turning a sweet dish into a savory one, this was a good challenge. Das really lucked out with Lemonade, right? I mean, basically just make a dish with lemon in it. By the way, who are all these people at the Sweet to Savory Carnival and how do I get a ticket?!

Paul is an idiot. His inspiration was caramel corn, so he uses caramel corn as a garnish. What the hell? When Serena called Paul "over the top," she meant "this guy is an idiot and he's trying too hard." So, Paul, how did you incorporate Caramel Corn into the dish?  Oh, you LITERALLY incorporated it into the dish. That guy is so off-putting. I was happy to see him in the bottom three.
Dzintra and Doreen rounded out Team Awkward in the bottom three. They all have the same problem: they are clueless and try too hard. Dzintra's personality made that one bitchy girl want to walk away. And she DID. I could care less who went home. Doreen will not be missed! Her culinary point of view was "I'm an Asian who hates Asian food!" Fortunately, the judges wanted Doreen out of here as badly as I did.

I hope this win will give Aarti some more confidence. It's not endearing (or is it?).
The judges don't like Tom, but I do. I also like Brad and Aarti. Who are your favorite contenders to be the Next Food Network Star?

Check back tomorrow for Food Porn from tonight's episode!
